Mods for Stardew Valley may also fail to function properly if they are incompatible with the game’s original files. This can happen when two or more modifications modify the same game files or systems, resulting in conflicts that stop the mods from operating correctly and preventing the mods from being used. There is a possibility that some modifications will clash with one another, leading to unexpected errors or crashes. One of the most typical reasons why Stardew Valley modifications do not function properly is because they are incompatible with one another. On the other hand, if a player has not updated their modifications in a while or is playing an earlier version of the game, it is possible that their mods are no longer compatible with the game, which might result in errors or crashes. Modifications are kept up to date by their creators on a regular basis to guarantee that they are compatible with the most recent release of the game. The fact that Stardew Valley modifications are often out of date is one of the most prevalent reasons why they do not function properly. Short Answer: Stardew Valley mods not working due to various reasons including outdated mods, incompatible mods, conflicting game files, load order issues, and mod installation issues. Method 5: Make sure that your mod installation is correct.Method 3: Examine the Game Files to See Whether There Are Any Conflicts. ![]() Method 2: Check for Modifications That Are Not Compatible. Why are Stardew Valley mods not working.I have to say, this was a lot easier than I made it out to be. When in reality you're supposed to unzip the SMAPI folder and replace its contents with your default stardew valley content then run the StardewValleyAPI.exe application file (after you unzip your mods to the StardewValley/Mod file) and it'd play the game as it's supposed to with the exception of now having those neat little mods.ĭon't worry, if you decide you don't want to play with the mods you don't have to! Just exit the application and then open the original StardewValley.exe application file and it won't have those mods anymore and you don't have to uninstall or delete anything! ![]() In short, what I had read and did was treat SMAPI like it was a mod and had put it into the mod folder instead of the actual mod. I don't know if anyone else has or will have this problem but I understood what I did wrong after watching this youtube video: I tried to make this as clear and detailed as I could. However, when I run the application it tells me it cannot find Stardew Valley quickly followed by a windows pops up to tell me the program has stopped working. ![]() I was looking up mods, such as C J B Item Spawner [and did the directions it told me: to install the latest SMAPI version in the Stardew Valley/Mods folder and then run the application (.exe file) associated with my PC (which is windows 10). So I decided I wanted to make a new character (because I'm against cheating on my first and main playthrough) just so I can get some Steam / Game achievements that I don't quite want to do with my first playthrough just yet (or can't get, like Joja Member of the Year) but I also don't want to take my precious time getting them either.
